Athletic Therapy for active adults who want to keep moving
Athletic therapy at beyond fitness
You’ve worked hard to stay active. The last thing you need is an injury, recurring pain, or that nagging issue that keeps getting in the way of the life you want to live.
Athletic Therapy at Beyond Fitness is designed for active adults who want to understand what is going on, rebuild confidence in their body, and stay strong for the long run.
understand why it keeps coming back
If you’ve seen someone about pain or injury before, you may know how it often goes: a few appointments, a sheet of exercises to do at home, and then you’re left trying to figure out the rest on your own.
Sometimes that helps. Often, the issue returns.
At Beyond Fitness, we look at the bigger picture. We consider how you move, what your body has been through, what your daily life demands, and what you want to be able to keep doing.
The goal is not simply to get you out of pain for a few weeks. The goal is to understand why the issue keeps coming back and build a plan that helps you move forward with more confidence.

what that looks like in practice
Every session is built around where you are right now and where you want to get to. That may include:
-
Hands-on treatment when appropriate
-
Movement-based rehabilitation
-
A close look at how you’re moving and where things may be breaking down
-
Strength work that matches your current capacity and builds from there
-
Guidance around activity levels so you can stay moving without constantly setting yourself back
-
A clear plan for what to do between sessions
Whether you want to keep hiking, train more comfortably, play with your grandchildren, carry groceries without bracing yourself, or simply feel more confident in your own body, the work is always connected to real life.
this is for you if...
-
Something keeps flaring up, even though you’ve tried to address it
-
You’re coming back from injury, surgery, or a long stretch of not feeling like yourself
-
You want to stay active but feel like your body is working against you
-
Your daily routine, work, training, or home life is taking a toll
-
You’re tired of managing pain and want a clearer plan
-
You want to feel stronger, steadier, and more capable in your body

what our clients are saying
KAREN D. | 56
“I’d been trying to manage the same issue for a long time, but I never felt like anyone was looking at the full picture. What helped most was understanding why it kept coming back and what I needed to do differently. I feel much more confident in my body now.”
Lisa M. | 38
“I came in with hip pain that had been bothering me for months. Instead of only treating the sore area, Matt looked at how I was moving and gave me a plan that actually made sense. Within a few weeks I was moving more comfortably again.”
Robert s. | 81
“At my age, I wasn’t looking for anything extreme. I wanted to keep moving, stay steady, and feel capable day to day. The approach here helped me feel stronger and more confident without feeling pushed beyond what was appropriate.”
about matt wellington

Matt Wellington helps active adults recover from injury, manage persistent pain, and rebuild confidence in their body so they can keep doing the things they care about.
As a Certified Athletic Therapist, Matt combines hands-on treatment, movement assessment, and progressive strength work to help clients understand what is going on and move forward with a clear plan.
His approach is practical, individualized, and focused on long-term function, not short-term fixes.

Before becoming an Athletic Therapist, Matt spent years as a professional climber. That experience gives him a firsthand understanding of what it means to push the body hard, manage setbacks, and rebuild after injury.
Climbing at a high level requires strength, control, mobility, resilience, and a deep awareness of how the body moves under stress. Matt brings that same perspective into his work with clients.
Whether someone is returning to sport, managing a recurring issue, or trying to stay active as they age, Matt understands how important it is to feel capable in your own body.
why beyond fitness?
Most clinics see you for your appointment and only know what happens in that room.
At Beyond Fitness, we already understand the value of strength, movement, consistency, and long-term health. Many of our clients are not looking for a quick fix. They want to stay active, capable, and independent for years to come.
Because Athletic Therapy is offered inside a personal training studio, the work can connect directly to strength, movement, and real-life function. The goal is not just to treat the issue. The goal is to help you keep moving well.
